Specialized Dementia Care Program in Boarding Homes
Becoming a Boarding Home Offering the Specialized Dementia Care Program (SDCP)
A limited amount of funding is available for SDCP services. Licensed boarding homes must apply and be selected to be contractors for this program. Currently the SDCP is operating at full capacity, meaning no new contractors can be brought onto the program. If an increase in funding is legislated, ADSA will issue a letter to all licensed boarding home administrators describing the program and potential application process.

- Be the official licensee of the applying boarding home in Washington State.

- Have no significant enforcement history such as, but not limited to, civil fines based on DSHS’s determination of moderate or serious severity, stop placements, condition(s) on license related to resident care, or any license revocation or summary suspension actions.
- Comply with all requirements in WAC 388-78A and WAC 388-112.
- Comply with the requirements identified in WAC 388-110.
- Be licensed, and authorized, to do business in this state.
- Currently have, or be willing to attain at the time of entering into a specialized dementia care contract, an Enhanced Adult Residential Care (EARC) or Assisted Living (AL) contract for use in the facility/unit/wing designated as specialized dementia care.
