MDS TRAINING—ALL REGIONS

Dear Nursing Facility/Home Administrator:

This letter contains important information for facility staff responsible for completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.

 Residential Care Services will be providing two 2-day training sessions entitled, “MDS 101: the Who, What, When, Why and How” during the remainder of 2005. The target audience for this training is facility staff new to the MDS process or those who have not attended any MDS training sessions. This is a basic class covering what the MDS is, coding requirements and conventions, error correction, transmission issues and common errors. Audience participation in the form of scenarios and group discussion will also occur. This is a repeat of the sessions held across the state in March of this year, and is limited to only 40 participants due to room size. Pre-registration will be required.

The training sessions are scheduled as follows:

DATES: Tuesday and Wednesday, August 2 and 3; or Monday and Tuesday, November 28 and 29
HOURS: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
