Food Service Code Revisions
Dear Boarding Home Provider:
As you know, boarding homes are considered food service establishments by the state Department of Health and are required to comply with Chapter 246-215 Washington Administrative Code (WAC): Food Service Regulations.
Residential Care Services announced the upcoming changes to these regulations in a recent provider letter, ADSA: BH #2004-023.
Food Service Code Training
Due to the overwhelming requests for training on the new Food Service Code, the Department of Health has agreed to provide specific training to boarding home staff. These trainings will be arranged for March and April of 2005.
Residential Care Services will send letters in Spring 2005 announcing the trainings in your area.
The FDA Food Code can be found at http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/fc01-toc.html
The summary of the major changes to the existing WAC can be found at: http://www.doh.wa.gov/ehp under Food Service Rule Revision Process.
Sincerely,
Patricia K. Lashway, Director
Residential Care Services
