ADSA: BH #2004-011
REQUEST FOR BH ADVISORY BOARD NOMINATIONS

Dear Boarding Home Provider:

Revised Code of Washington 18.20.260 establishes a Boarding Home Advisory Board to provide Aging and Disabilities Services Administration with advisory opinions regarding the department's inspection, enforcement, and quality improvement activities; and comments and recommendations regarding the adoption of rules and standards, implementation of boarding home provider programs, and development of methods and rates of payment.

The terms of all current members of the Boarding Home Advisory Board expire in August 2004. The purpose of this letter is to offer you the opportunity to nominate one individual to represent the boarding home industry on the Boarding Home Advisory Board.

Members of the board are appointed to serve a two-year term. Members are expected to attend all advisory board meetings and to communicate with, and speak on behalf of, the group he or she is representing. The board does not entertain discussion related to individual cases or concerns. Typically, meetings are scheduled from 9:00 AM to noon in the Olympia area, and are held at least four times per year. The first two meetings of the new board will be held on September 2 and December 2, 2004. Additional meetings may be added.

If you would like to nominate an individual to serve on the Boarding Home Advisory Board, please submit your nomination using the enclosed form by August 1, 2004. If you have questions, please contact Denny McKee at (360) 725-2590.

Thank you for your continued interest in the boarding home program.

Sincerely,

Patricia K. Lashway, Director
Residential Care Service
