Dear Boarding Home Provider:
Legislation that was adopted in the 2004 legislative session requires the department to complete boarding home rule making by September 1, 2004. This process can be completed through use of the regular rule adoption process including the opportunity for public comment.
You previously received a notice of proposed rule making from the department dated March 2, 2004. This notice has been withdrawn. The department has instead submitted the enclosed CR 101. This document, dated March 24, 2004, initiates a new rule making process for all boarding home rules, at one time. This revised approach will eliminate any confusion about which sections are open for promulgation.
As progress is made on the rules, we will post information to the Boarding Home Licensing Rules web page at http://www.aasa.dshs.wa.gov/professional/bhrule/default.htm
