SUBJECT: MENTAL HEALTH AND DEMENTIA SPECIALTY TRAINING

Dear Boarding Home Provider:

Enclosed is an updated brochure listing the mental health and dementia specialty trainings scheduled during June through December 2002.

Classes have been added during the summer to help boarding homes (BH) meet the new BH specialty training requirements that go into effect September 1, 2002. Boarding home administrators or their designee will receive priority registration for all classes, which begin before September 1, 2002.

Each licensed BH [either the administrator or their designee] will be eligible to receive one reduced fee of $100 for the mental health specialty training and one reduced fee of $100 for the dementia specialty training for all trainings that begin before September 1, 2002. The reduced fee can be applied to either the class or the challenge evaluation.

Your early registration for classes will ensure your opportunity to attend a training in anticipation of the implementation of the new training requirements.
