ENFORCEMENT OF COMPLIANCE WITH NEW TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Dear Adult Family Home Provider:
The inspection process used by RCS licensing staff has recently been revised to include a review of compliance with the new training requirements. The new Washington Administrative Code (WAC) became effective on August 11, 2002, with implementation starting on September 1, 2002. The WAC includes section 388-112-0001 through 0410. Adult Family Home WAC 388-76-655 requires the AFH staff meet these training requirements and WAC 388-76-660 requires the individual providers, entity representatives, resident managers and caregivers meet these requirements.
Providers were notified on August 2, 2002 that they would be allowed a reasonable amount of time to come into compliance. The RCS staff have recently received revisions to the inspection process, which now includes the review of the compliance issues associated with the new training regulations and requirements. The revisions to the inspection process are effective as of August 2003.
If you have further questions regarding the training rules and requirement, class dates and /or locations, please refer to the web site created by Home and Community Services (HCS). The web site can be accessed at www.adsa.dshs.wa.gov/Professional/training. We appreciate your continued commitment to providing quality care.
Sincerely,
Patricia K. Lashway, Director
