DENIAL OF REQUESTS FOR STANDING OR CREATED RECORDS

Dear Adult Family Home Provider:

RCW 42.17.270 and WAC 388-01-160 require that DSHS provide access only to existing, identifiable public records in its possession at the time of the public records request. Based on these laws, standing requests for reports and creation of new lists or reports are not required.

In an effort to utilize staff resources to meet legal requirements and increasing demands, a new public records request must be submitted each time a disclosable record is sought. The request must be for specific report(s) that already exist. To make such a request, send your request to by mail or fax to:
