AASA: AFH #2002-013
SUBJECT: ELIMINATION OF AFH PROVIDER/RESIDENT MANAGER
REGISTRATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
Dear Adult Family Home Provider:
On March 28, 2002, Enrolled House Bill 2444 was adopted. This legislation repealed the requirement for adult family home providers and resident managers to register with the Department of Health (DOH). We have been informed by the DOH that they will no longer be processing registrations received after March 28, 2002 and that they will be notifying adult family providers and resident managers of this change.
As a result of this change in law, we will be revising the appropriate sections of Chapter 388-76 WAC. Provider/Resident Manager registration with DOH will no longer be a requirement for the AFH Application process. In addition, the RCS inspection process will no longer require verification of this registration.
If you have any questions about the DOH registration, contact the DOH Customer Service Center at (360) 236-4700. If you have any questions concerning this matter and your inspection process, contact your local Field Manager.
Sincerely,
Patricia K. Lashway, Director
