Adult Family Home 48 Hour Administrator Training
The Adult Family Home 48 Hour Administrator Training must be a minimum of 48 hours of training on topics related to the management of adult family homes. There are 12 mandatory topics that must be included. See a list of mandatory topics.
Only those instructors approved by DSHS may offer this course (see below).

Who Must Take This Training
New prospective adult family home providers applying for a license after January 1, 2007 must successfully complete this training before being given a license to open an adult family home.
Existing providers licensed before December 31, 2006 must successfully complete the course before operating more than one adult family home.

Finding and Locating an Instructor
The following instructors have been approved to teach this course. The regions of the state where they will provide training are listed with their contact information. See a map that outlines what counties are in each region.
Many instructors will travel outside of their local area to train if no instructors are available where you live or offer a class that meets your schedule (instructors need a certain number of students to hold a class).
