RESIDENT AND CLIENT PROTECTION PROGRAM (RCPP)

Dear Certified Community Residential Services and Support Provider:

Under state law (Chapter 74.34 Revised Code of Washington), you are a mandated reporter and you must continue to protect clients and report to 1-800-562-6078 if you believe that abandonment, abuse, financial exploitation, or neglect of a vulnerable adult has occurred.  You must give the name of the individual that you believe abandoned, abused, neglected, or exploited the vulnerable adult, if you know it.

In the certified community residential services and support program, Residential Care Services (RCS) has been:

Beginning April 1, 2008, a new unit in the department called the Resident and Client Protection Program (RCPP) will be responsible for conducting investigations of individuals alleged to have abandoned, abused, neglected, exploited or financially exploited a resident or client in the department programs, including the certified community residential services and support program.  Any individual found to have abandoned, abused, neglected, exploited or financially exploited a vulnerable adult will have their name entered into the department’s list and cannot have unsupervised access to vulnerable adults in department programs.
