FINAL AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 388-78A WAC
Dear Boarding Home Administrator:
In October 2008 and January 2009, Residential Care Services (RCS) informed you of possible changes to the Boarding Home (BH) licensing rules to:
- Clarify change of ownership (CHOW) application requirements;
- Create flexibility for BH providers about giving proposed CHOW notice to the department and residents “if the proposed change of boarding home licensee is not anticipated to result in the discharge or transfer of any resident”; and
- Clarify CHOW notice requirements to the department and residents “if the proposed change of boarding home licensee is anticipated to result in the discharge or transfer or any resident”.
RCS has filed the Rule-making Order CR-103 for these amendments with the Office of the Code Reviser. The amendments become effective on Thursday, April 2, 2009.
Enclosed is a copy of the CR-103 and the amended WAC sections (WSR 09-06-063). We encourage you to share a copy with your staff.
Approximately 2 weeks after the effective date, the codified (integrated & updated) rule language should be available to view/print at http://apps.leg.wa.gov/WAC/default.aspx?dispo=true&cite=388-78A, with the notation, “updated March 3, 2009”.
If you have questions, please contact your RCS Field Manager.
Sincerely,
Joyce Pashley Stockwell
Director, Residential Care Services
