Final amendments to chapter 388-78A
Dear Boarding Home Administrator:
In December 2007 and August 2008, Residential Care Services (RCS) informed you of possible changes to the Boarding Home (BH) licensing rules to:
- Clarify the use of audio and video monitoring/electronic monitoring requirements;
- Create flexibility and clarify roll-in shower requirements for new construction;
- Clarify water supply and lighting requirements in new construction;
- Clarify rules about petitions to remove a finding of neglect under the resident protection program; and
- Clarify the section heading for criminal history disclosure and background checks.
RCS has filed the Rule-Making Order CR-103 for these amendments with the Office of the Code Reviser. The amendments become effective on January 10, 2009.
Enclosed is a copy of the “Rule Making Order CR-103” and the amended WAC sections (WSR 09-01-052). We encourage you to share a copy with your staff.
