Dear Boarding Home Administrator:

This letter applies to boarding homes that have a contract with the department for the Medicaid program.  The department is considering possible amendments to WAC 388-110-140 (Assisted Living services facility structural requirements).

We are considering ways to provide clarity around the assisted living resident unit requirements for new construction.  In addition, some issues related to kitchen area requirements have been identified. 

The department filed the enclosed CR 101 with the Office of the Code Reviser to begin the rule making process.
