AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES ADMINISTRATION

2008 BH "Dear Administrator" Letters

June 16, 2008

ADSA:  BH #2008-011
CR-101 FILED – AMENDING CHAPTER 388-110 WAC
VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL FROM MEDICAID BY A BOARDING HOME (BH)

Dear Boarding Home Administrator:

You recently received a letter informing you that Substitute Senate Bill (SSB) 6807 passed the legislature this last session.  As was stated in BH #2008-006, on March 28, 2008, the Governor signed into law SSB 6807, after a veto of Section 2 of the bill.  Because of an emergency clause, the bill went into effect immediately. The law addresses a boarding home’s voluntary withdrawal from the Medicaid program and became effective the date the Governor signed it.  The department will be adding new sections to Chapter 388-110 Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Contracted residential care services, in order to put the legal requirements into rule.

The department has filed the enclosed CR-101 (WSR 08-10-062) with the Office of the Code Reviser to begin the rule-making process.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Todd Henry, at (360) 725-2580 or henryte@dshs.wa.gov.

Sincerely,

Joyce Pashley Stockwell, Director
Residential Care Services
