AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES ADMINISTRATION

2008 BH "Dear Administrator" Letters

March 11, 2008

ADSA:  BH #2008-002
AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 388-78a wac - Boarding Home Licensing Rules

Dear Boarding Home Administrator:

The department has adopted due process rules into Chapter 388-78A Washington Administrative Code (WAC), which will become effective March 17, 2008.

The new WAC sections spell out due process rights for individuals associated with the boarding home alleged to have abandoned, abused, neglected, exploited, and/or financially exploited a boarding home resident.

In addition, several existing sections of the BH licensing rules were amended to be consistent with the department’s programs.

Attached is a copy of the “Rule Making Order CR-103” and the new WAC sections and amendments.  We encourage you to share a copy the new rule sections with your staff.

When the codified final rule is available, a link will be added to the ADSA Internet, BH Professional Page, at http://www.adsa.dshs.wa.gov/professional/bh.htm

If you have any questions, contact Todd Henry, Program Manager at (360) 725-2580.

Sincerely,

Joyce Pashley Stockwell, Director
