Amendments to WAC 388-78A-2020

Dear Boarding Home Provider:

The 2006 Legislature passed a bill into law that amends the definition of “nonresident individual” and adds a definition of “adult day services” in Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 18.20.020. This bill clarifies that boarding homes may provide adult day services in the boarding home. A copy of “Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill (ESSB) 6391” is enclosed.

In response, we have filed a proposed amendment to the boarding home Washington Administrative Code (WAC) at 388-78A-2020. The proposed amendment will mirror the definitions of “nonresident individual” and “adult day services” in agreement with RCW 18.20.020.

The proposed amended definitions are:

A public hearing is scheduled to provide the opportunity for you to testify in person with comments about the proposed amendments. The hearing will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at:
