Boarding Home Inspections:? A Survey of Provider Satisfaction

Dear Boarding Home Provider:

I am pleased to share the Executive Summary of the Boarding Home Inspection Process final report that summarizes data collected between September 1999 and September 2000.? Boarding home providers/staff who had completed the annual re-inspection process voluntarily completed a comment card.? Based on their in put, we will refine the way we conduct re-inspections and collaborate with providers, clients, and our staff to improve services and the quality of life of boarding home residents.

While the survey findings are positive in most areas, there are areas where improvements can be made.? Residential Care Services and research staff are reviewing the data and comments from providers as a basis to make needed improvements in the re-inspection process.

If you have questions about the survey findings, sampling or report, please call Vince Van Der Hyde at 360-725-2324.? If you would like to read the final report, you may review it on the Internet at www.aasa.dshs.wa.gov, or call Annette Curry at 360-725-2314 to receive a hard copy.

Thank you for all providers and staff who participated in this survey.

Sincerely,

Patricia K. Lashway, Director
Residential Care Services
