Training Videos –vs- Caregiving classes

Dear Boarding Home Provider:

It has come to our attention that some of you are encouraging the use of videos for training caregivers instead of having them attend the Fundamentals of Caregiving, Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving, and/or Nurse Delegation classes.

The videos were created for use in emergency situations only – to provide a new employee with training when classes are not available, not as a substitute for attending classes.

If you need to use the videos, an approved instructor needs to do the skills testing. His/her name should be entered on the monthly report.
