Temporary Change in Hotline Options Menu
Dear Boarding Home Administrator:
At the beginning of 1999, I wrote you regarding your responsibility to ensure contingency plans were in place to continue vital services in the event of any Y2K related service interruptions.
The Complaint Resolution Unit (CRU) is prepared to receive and respond to all Y2K related calls. Effective December 15, 1999, CRU will implement an additional selection on the hotline menu. By pressing "8", the call will be routed to a designated mailbox for Y2K reporting. This option is being added to assist the department in rapidly identifying any Y2K related incidents. This option will continue, at a minimum, through January, 2000.
I am asking you to use this option specifically for the reporting of Y2K related service interruptions, such as loss of power, water, or communication service. This reporting is mandatory, in addition to all other required reporting. No changes have been made to the other existing hotline options, so please continue to use them.
If you have any questions related to Y2K mandatory reporting, please contact John Gaskell, Acting Chief, Consumer Services, at (360) 438-7939.
Sincerely,
Patricia K. Lashway, Director
Residential Care Services
