RE: BH Fire Sprinkler Grant Application
Dear Boarding Home Provider:
As many of you know, the 1999 Washington State Legislature appropriated $2.5 million to help pay for the cost of retrofitting fire sprinklers in boarding homes that are not equipped with fire sprinklers. On September 3, 1999, the State Fire Marshal (SFM) and Aging and Disability Services Administration (AASA) sent you a letter outlining the requirements for grant eligibility. Many of you participated in a pre-application meeting on October 1, 1999 in order to express your questions regarding this grant. These questions have been considered in the publication of the grant application, which is now available.
124 boarding home were identified in the Governor's Fire Protection Task Force Report as not having fire sprinklers; if your facility was identified in this report or if you have requested an application, a grant application is enclosed with this letter.
