INFORMAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCESS

Dear Boarding Home Administrator:

Aging and Disability Services Administration (AASA) and representatives of boarding home providers associations have developed an Informal Dispute Resolution Process as a tool for resolving disputes about findings documented in inspection reports.

There is no statutory or regulatory requirement for this Informal Dispute Resolution Process. However, AASA offers this process as a means for boarding home operators to communicate disagreement with findings, provide additional information regarding the disputed issue, and resolve the dispute in an informal, non-legalistic manner.

Enclosed is a copy of AASA’s guidelines for using the Informal Dispute Resolution. Please call your area manager if you have questions regarding this process.

Sincerely,

Patricia Lashway, Director
Residential Care Services
