AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES ADMINISTRATION

2007 AFH "Dear Provider" Letters

August 2, 2007

ADSA: AFH #2007-007
Proposed amendments to include due process rights

Dear Adult Family Home Provider:

The department is initiating the rule-making process to amend chapter 388-76 Washington Administrative Code (WAC) Adult Family Home Minimum Licensing Requirements. The amendments will add sections to the chapter to clarify the due process rights of persons investigated for alleged abuse, neglect, exploitation and financial exploitation of an adult family home resident and other related sections. In addition, other sections of the rule may be amended as necessary.

The department has filed the enclosed “CR-101” with the Code Reviser to begin this process. Stakeholder input and feed back will be obtained through the Adult Family Home Advisory Committee and other represented groups.

The department anticipates that a CR-102 will be filed in late September 2007. At that time, proposed language will be shared and stakeholders will have another opportunity to provide input.

If you have any questions or comments, contact Roger Woodside at (360) 725-3204 or woodsr@dshs.wa.gov.

Thank you for your continued commitment to the long-term care residents of our state.

Sincerely,

Joyce Pashley Stockwell, Director
Residential Care Services
