AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 388-76 WAC
Dear Adult Family Home Provider:
Enclosed is a Rule-Making order (CR 102) for proposed amendments to Chapter 388-76 WAC Adult Family Home Minimum Licensing Requirements. The amended rule order was filed with the Office of the Code Reviser on June 29, 2007 (WSR 07-14-082) and will be published in the Washington State Register on August 15, 2007.
The purpose of amending this rule is to:
- Comply with the Governor’s Executive Order 05-03 Plain Talk;
- Simplify language, eliminate the question and answer format, reorganize and renumber the chapter so that the requirements are clearer for adult family home providers to understand;
- Clarify issues brought to the attention of the department; and
- Update the rules to comply with statute changes.
The 2007 Legislature passed Engrossed Substitute House Bill 2111. This bill amends chapter 70.128 RCW Adult Family Homes to include a provision for rule making which does not go into effect until July 22, 2007, after the department filed the CR-102.
We welcome public comments and recommendations in the development of this rule. In addition to providing written comments as stated in the CR-102, two public hearings are scheduled to each begin at 10:00 a.m. as follows:
