AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 388-76 WAC

Dear Adult Family Home Provider :

Enclosed is a Proposed Rule-Making Order (CR 102) for amendments to Chapter 388-76 WAC - Adult Family Home Minimum Licensing Requirements. The proposal was filed with the Office of the Code Reviser on June 20, 2005 and will be published in the Washington State Register (WSR 05-13-126) on July 20, 2005.

The purpose of amending this rule is to correct name and address changes, correct outdated rule and statute references, consolidate all definitions into one section and repeal obsolete sections.

These technical changes are necessary to make the WAC Chapter up-to-date. The proposal also amends the existing adult family home licensing rule to be consistent with currently adopted statutes in Chapter 70.128 RCW and recent amendments to this statute (House Bill 2444 – Chapter 233, Laws of 2002; and Senate Bill 5733 – Chapter 140, Laws of 2004) and other rules, and consolidates information for ease of reading.

We welcome public comments and recommendations in the development of this rule. A public hearing is scheduled as follows:
