AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES ADMINISTRATION
July 25, 2001
AASA:? AFH # 2001- 015
SUBJECT:? Vendor Rate Increase
Dear Adult Family Home Provider,
The 2001 Washington State Legislature approved a 2.1% vendor rate increase along with funds to increase compensation for low-wage workers in community residential care settings.? The low-wage enhancement along with a small portion of the 2.1% vendor rate increase is intended to increase compensation by an average of fifty cents per hour for low-wage direct care workers while they are employed serving Medicaid residents in facilities contracting with the state.
It is left to the discretion of the facility to define low-wage direct care workers employed by the facility and determine an appropriate wage scale increase
As required by the legislature, the department will be meeting with provider representatives to establish a mechanism for measuring the extent to which funds have been used for this purpose and report the results to the fiscal committees of the legislature by February 2002.
Medicaid rates effective July 1, 2001 for adult family home (AFH), adult residential care (ARC), enhanced adult residential care (EARC) and assisted living services are:
